Use archive material

In the State Archives you can view documents from authorities, institutions and important personalities that go back far into Hamburg's history. Here's how to access these documents.

You can research online or on site which documents you currently have access to in the state archives. You can order these and view them in the reading room. You can request digital reproductions or (certified) copies from a service provider for a fee. If you have any questions about research, a free consultation service is available by telephone or on site. Research by the State Archives is subject to a fee.
