Documents required
For entries in the commercial register:
- Every application for entry or change, including business addresses, in the commercial register is submitted to the commercial register in electronic form by the notary. Depending on the legal form of the company and the type of fact to be entered, further documents must be submitted (in some cases also certified by a notary). You can find out which documents have to be submitted in individual cases from the notary.
- All documents, especially lists of shareholders, must be submitted in electronic form, even from private individuals.
- People who want to apply for an extract or document for third parties do not have to present any legitimation.
- If an excerpt is required for a foreign country, the District Court of Hamburg, Department 1, will issue the mandatory additional authentication (apostille).
The fees (e.g. for an entry/deposit of documents) are calculated according to the facts. Since 08/01/2022 there is a 1/3 fee for the provision/internet.

Issuance of extracts from the commercial register:
Extracts from the commercial register can be requested by anyone personally on site or in writing (also by fax) or accessed online on the Internet.
In the case of written requests, the extract will be sent against an invoice.
In the event of a personal request on site at the service center, proof of identification (ID / passport) must be presented.
People who want to apply for an extract for third parties on account must present a legitimation or authorization.
For online research regarding relevant data from the Hamburg commercial register, registration at www.handelsregister.de is required. Please visit the website for more information.
Fees
Personal or written request to the registry court: Official printout (previous certified register extract) 20.00 euros, printout - previous uncertified register extract - 10.00 euros, photocopies of the submitted documents 0.50 euros per page.
