Report wastewater malfunction of public facilities

Prerequisites

Please note

You can use the transfer shaft or cleaning opening on your property to check whether the wastewater is still draining properly and whether the problem is actually in the public sewage system. A transfer shaft is usually located on the property line. If there is development along the property line, the cleaning opening is located inside the building (for example, in the basement or utility room).

If the affected drainage system is located on your property, you are responsible for rectifying the problem yourself.

Deadlines

To avoid damage, report any malfunction as soon as possible.

Procedure

• You submit your report to the responsible authority and provide as much information as possible about the location of the fault (e.g. street and house number)
• The responsible authority will examine your report and initiate any necessary countermeasures.

Processing time

The processing time depends on the type and extent of the problem.

Fees

If the problem is in the public sewage system, there will be no costs for you.
