Applying for and managing funding

Prerequisites

• The project to be funded has not yet started.
• The specific funding requirements of the respective funding guidelines of the granting authority are met.
• Your organization is not part of the public administration.
• They represent a legally capable legal entity (e.g., registered association, foundation, GmbH, eGbR).
• Your organization is registered in the company file (online service "Create company file"). The authorized representatives are listed there.
• You are registered as an authorized representative of your organization in the company file with the same email address that you use in the ServicePortal Hamburg.

Documents required

A project description must be submitted.

Further required documents depend on the respective grant or funding program and can be found in the corresponding funding guidelines and the information provided by the granting body.

Please note

• Currently, the use of this online service is restricted to participating grant-making bodies.
• Applying for grants for construction projects and institutional funding is not yet possible via this online service. If you wish to apply for funding for these purposes, please contact the granting agency directly.

Procedure

General procedure

• You submit an application.
• The granting agency will review your application. If necessary, it will request further documents or information.
• The granting agency will decide on your application.
• You will receive a written notification.
• If your application is approved, you can access funding within the approval period.
• They submit proof of use after completion of the project.

Procedure for the online service grant portal

• You are accessing the grant portal. If you are not yet logged in, you will be redirected to the Hamburg Service Portal.
• The grant portal lists existing cases. You can apply for a new grant or manage approved grants (e.g., requesting funds).
• When submitting your application, you will be guided through the application process step by step.
• You can upload all the required documents.
• The granting agency will review your application. If necessary, they will request further documents or information from you.
• The granting agency will decide on your application.
• You will receive a written notification.
• You can view the processing status at any time.
• If your application is approved, you can access funding within the approval period.
• They submit proof of use after completion of the project.

Written form still possible

• You submit an application to the responsible funding agency. The necessary application forms are provided by the agency and are available in connection with the respective funding guidelines.
• For subsequent requests (e.g. changes to your information or the submission of proof of use), please contact the responsible granting authority directly.
• The granting agency will review your application. If necessary, it will request further documents or information.
• The granting agency will decide on your application.
• You will receive a written notification.
• If your application is approved, you can access funding within the approval period.
• They submit proof of use after completion of the project.

Processing time

The processing time depends on the specific funding area and can therefore vary.
