Eppendorf-Lokstedt Residents' Affairs

Election advertising contradiction

If you would like to object to election advertising, you will find the necessary information here.

Detailed description

According to Section 50 of the Federal Registration Act (BMG), the names and addresses of eligible voters may be transmitted to parties, voter associations, and other sponsors of election proposals for up to six months prior to an election so that they can use them to address individuals during the election campaign. This information may only be used for election advertising purposes and must be deleted within one week of election day.

Citizens have the right to object to receiving information from the residents' register for election advertising purposes. The objection can be submitted to any local Hamburg Service Residents' Registration Office. No justification is required for the objection. It becomes effective upon entry in the residents' register and remains valid for all future elections until withdrawn. Processing is free of charge. A corresponding form can be found under the links or at the Residents' Affairs locations.

The right of objection can only be exercised uniformly. An objection limited to a specific party is inadmissible. The fact that the right of objection has been exercised will not be communicated to the parties, voter associations, or other sponsors of election proposals. Objections will also be considered from minors who are eligible to vote until the next election.
