Apply for social compensation - assistance in case of significant impairment of earning capacity

If you need treatment for a recognized health condition and are therefore unable to work, you may be eligible for financial support.

Detailed description

If you require medical treatment due to a recognized health impairment and are therefore so severely restricted in your work that you cannot secure your livelihood on your own, you can receive financial support in the form of assistance.



Even if you receive sick pay and this is not enough to cover your ongoing costs, you can apply for additional assistance.



If you are self-employed and do not receive sick pay, the allowance is intended to cover your necessary living expenses.

 

Information

Prerequisites

  • You have suffered health damage in Germany or, under certain conditions, abroad as a result of a harmful event.
  • Her health impairment has been acknowledged.
  • Your outpatient or inpatient treatment due to the injury will significantly impair your earning capacity.
  • They are unable to secure their own livelihood.

  • If applicable: Notification of sick pay

The processing time depends on the individual case and usually takes several weeks.
