If you as
- injured person or
- widow or widower of an injured person
If you have been granted social compensation, you will usually receive it in monthly payments. If you wish, you can request to receive the social compensation instead as a lump-sum payment.
If you, as the injured party, wish to receive the severance payment, it will be paid out every 5 years and will amount to 60 times your monthly compensation payment. With the payment of the severance payment, your claims to the monthly compensation payments for a period of 5 years will then be settled.
If you, as a widow or widower, wish to receive the severance payment, it will be paid to you as a one-time payment. The amount of the payment depends on the individual case.
Payments already made to you during the relevant period will always be offset against the payout.
