Detailed description

If you are installing factory lines, pipes or cables for public supply or drainage

  • want to relocate or
  • wish to undertake more than a minor structural modification to it

You will need a permit for the associated excavations.

 

Information

Prerequisites

  • They are
    • Manager or female manager
    • Network operator of a public supply line or
    • their service provider
  • You already have a right of way (for example, through a concession agreement).
  • She wants to relocate a public utility line or
  • You want to carry out more than minor structural modifications to an existing public utility line.

Documents required

  • Site plans at a scale of 1:500 based on the official real estate cadastre information system ALKIS digital, from which the following can be seen:
    • Exact location and extent of the areas used
    • Space for necessary equipment, excavated material, barriers
    • Street and house numbers of the affected public roads
    • If you do not yet have this information, you must submit it with the notification of commencement of construction.
    • Location of the line endpoints, including street and house number
    • Clear identification and demarcation of the traffic types on the affected public roads (for example, roadway, footpath or cycle path),
    • Route of the pipeline with location and elevation data
    • If applicable: Exact location of above-ground electrical cabinets, specifying the remaining width of the sidewalk.
    • Trees up to a distance of 5 meters from their crown drip line,
      • with exact location and diameter of trunk and crown drip line (in public spaces according to the data from the digital tree register)
  • If applicable: Permits relating to historic preservation, dike law and water law
  • If applicable: Approval from the construction site coordination
  • If located near railway facilities: Approval from Hamburger Hochbahn AG and/or DB Netz AG is required.
  • In case of representation: Written power of attorney

Please note

Once the permit has been granted, you can then indicate the start of construction using the corresponding form in the same online service. No separate application is required for this.

Deadlines

You need a permit before you begin excavating. The permit expires if you do not start work within 24 months of its issuance.

Procedure

  • They apply for the excavation and pipe laying, submitting all necessary documents.
  • The responsible authority will review your application and may request further necessary documents from you.
  • The result of the test will be communicated to you in writing.
  • The permit initially approves the route alignments, after which the corresponding notification of commencement of construction can be submitted.

Processing time

The processing time for the permit is 3 months from receipt of all required documents.

Fees

Administrative fees apply. The amount depends on the number of excavation sites and can therefore vary.
