Are your lives in danger? Find out here how you can prevent information about yourself from being released from the residents' registration office.

Detailed description

You can have your data blocked from being accessed by the residents' registration office if disclosure would jeopardize your legitimate interests. A legitimate interest could be, for example, your health, your life, or your personal freedom.

This information block applies to information provided to private individuals and private companies, but does not apply to authorities, courts and other public bodies.

Prerequisites

  • Their legitimate interests are at risk.
  • You can explain the danger in a comprehensible way.

Documents required

A written application with justification explaining that you or others are at risk. Evidence can include, for example, police reports, court documents, or other relevant documents.

Please note

There are no special considerations.

Deadlines

The information blocking period ends after 2 years and can be extended upon request.

Procedure

  • You submit your informal application either in person at the location or in writing to the responsible authority.
  • This results in a temporary information block. From this point on, no further information will be provided without further review.
  • The responsible authority will contact you in writing and send you an application form.
  • You fill out the application form and submit it, along with any necessary documents, to the responsible authority.
  • The responsible authority will review your application and assess whether the conditions for registering the information block are met.
  • If the conditions are not met, the previously registered, temporary information block will be lifted.
  • If the conditions are met, the information block will be entered.

The main entrance to Harburger Rathausforum 3 is located at the rear of the building and can be reached via the inner courtyard of the building complex. To get to the inner courtyard, use the entrance on Knoopstrasse. The mailbox is located at Harburger Rathausplatz 1 (town hall). There are no customer parking spaces available.
