Detailed description

If you completed your teacher training program or obtained your teaching qualification in another federal state and would like to begin your preparatory service or teaching career in Hamburg, the relevant authority will review your documentation. This ensures that your qualifications meet the requirements. In general, teaching qualifications from other federal states are recognized in Hamburg, so there's usually nothing standing in the way of a transfer.

You have completed a teacher training course in a federal state other than Hamburg, obtaining the First State Examination or a Master of Education, or you have successfully completed your preparatory service in another federal state.

officially certified copy of the bachelor's certificate and diploma
Overview of the Bachelor's degree program
officially certified copy of the master's certificate and diploma
Overview of the Master's program
officially certified copy of the certificate of the First State Examination
Performance / study overview of the First State Examination
if applicable, officially certified copy of the certificate of the (Second) State Examination
if applicable, officially certified copies of extension examinations
if applicable, a copy of proof of name change

Procedure

You apply for recognition of your teacher training course with the necessary documents to the responsible authority.
The responsible authority will review your application and documents. If necessary, they will request additional documents or information from you.
The responsible body compares your study and examination results with the Hamburg requirements.
You will be informed of the results of the examination and can comment on them.
The responsible authority will decide on your application.
You will receive a notification.
