Apply for reissue of bus and coach permit

Prerequisites

• The safety and efficiency of your company is guaranteed.
• There are no facts that would suggest that you are unreliable as an entrepreneur or as the person appointed to manage the business.
• You are professionally qualified in your role as an entrepreneur or person appointed to manage the business.
• You and any entrepreneurs you may have commissioned to provide transport services have their registered office or branch within the meaning of commercial law in Germany.

In the case of legal entities under public law, the requirements are deemed to be met.

Documents required

• Application for reissue of the bus and coach licence with the following information:
  • Surname, first name of the applicant
  • Residence and place of business
  • for natural persons, birthday, place of birth
  • Number of vehicles, vehicle type, capacity of the vehicles used
• Service certificates or examination certificates of the applicant or the person appointed to manage the business (proof of professional suitability)
• Proof of employment of the employed traffic manager
• Annual financial statements or opening balance sheet / balance sheet
• If applicable, equity certificate / additional certificate (not older than 3 months)
• Certificate of clearance from the tax office, the municipality, the social security office and the professional association (not older than 3 months)
  • The clearance certificates must be presented by the company, its legal representative and the person appointed to manage the business / traffic management
• Certificate of good conduct for submission to the authorities
• Extract from the Central Trade Register
• Extract from the Driving Aptitude Register (FAER)
• Vehicle list
• Business registration
• Optional: Commercial Register Extract
• Optional: Articles of Association

Please note

Deadlines

The renewal of the permit is limited to a maximum of 10 years.

Procedure

• You submit your application to the responsible office and attach all necessary documents.
• The responsible body will process your application and conduct the necessary hearing procedures.
• You will receive a notification of the decision to grant the bus permit.
• If necessary, you will be given the certificate of approval.

Processing time

If your application is complete, a decision will be made within three months. This deadline can be extended by three months if necessary.

The amount of the fees varies and depends on

• the number of vehicles and


• the duration of the approval.
