Submit a measurement report on continuous measurements of air pollutants in medium-sized combustion plants

As the operator of a medium-sized combustion plant, gas turbine or combustion engine plant, you must, under certain conditions, determine pollutant emissions through continuous measurements and prepare a measurement report on the results.

Detailed description

If you operate a medium-sized combustion plant, gas turbine or combustion engine plant, you must, under certain conditions, determine pollutant emissions through continuous measurements.

You must prepare a measurement report for each calendar year on the results of the measurements and send it to the responsible authority within the deadline.

Information

Prerequisites

  • You are the operator of a medium-sized combustion, gas turbine or combustion engine plant.
  • You have put your system into operation.
  • The obligation to measure does not apply if
    • the system runs for less than 500 operating hours per year or
    • the respective emission share is less than 10% of the annual emissions of the entire plant.

Documents required

  • Complete measurement report if the measurement results are not available to the competent authority through suitable telemetric transmission

Please note

You commit an administrative offence if you:

  • do not carry out continuous measurements,
  • do not submit the measurement report on time,
  • do not keep the measurement report and the records of the measuring instruments for at least 6 years.

You can search for accredited measuring institutes on the website of the Research System for Measuring Points and Experts (ReSyMeSa) (see links) that are:

  • certify proper installation,
  • perform the calibration,
  • check functionality.

Deadlines

If the measurement results are not yet available to the competent authority through suitable telemetric transmission:

  • Submit the measurement report for each calendar year to the responsible authority by March 31 of the following year at the latest.

  • Keep the measurement report and the measuring instrument records for at least 6 years after the end of the respective reporting period.

Procedure

  • They evaluate the continuous measurements of each calendar year.
  • You create a measurement report based on the results.
  • You send the measurement report to the responsible authority on time.
  • If the measurement results have already been transmitted to the responsible authority via telemetry in an appropriate manner, you do not need to take any further action.
