If you move to Hamburg before the federal election, you will be included in the Hamburg electoral register under certain conditions. In this case, you will receive an election notification at your new address. If you are not automatically included, you can submit an application to be included in your Hamburg polling station.

If you are still eligible to vote in your old polling station after February 2, 2025, you can vote on site or use the postal vote option. To vote by post, you must submit an application to the election office of your previous municipality of residence.
You will be automatically included in the Hamburg electoral register until January 12, 2025 (42nd day before the federal election) if you register your main or sole residence in Hamburg by this date.
Between January 13, 2025 and February 2, 2025, you can apply to be added to the Hamburg electoral register.
After February 2, 2025, changes will no longer be possible.
