Detailed description

In the Hamburg state election, the citizens of the city state elect the representatives who decide on important issues for the city. To exercise your right to vote, cast your vote on election Sunday between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the polling station responsible for your home address.

After the polling stations close at 6:00 p.m., the public counting of votes begins. You can watch the vote counting, regardless of whether you are eligible to vote or not. The results from the polling stations are collected and recorded centrally. The overall result of the election is then determined and published.

On the Monday after election day, you can observe the counting of votes to determine the provisional result in the local elections from 8:00 a.m. at the polling stations or in the district counting centers.
