A report can help to draw attention to possible problems such as inappropriate care, abuse, neglect or violations of safety standards.

Procedure

  • You contact the responsible office by telephone, in writing or by email and describe the situation as specifically as possible. If you wish, you can remain anonymous.
  • The responsible authority will examine your report and decide on the next steps. If necessary, the responsible authority will inspect the facility on site.
  • If violations are detected, measures such as conditions, sanctions or, in very serious cases, closure of the facility may be taken.
  • Depending on the procedure and the level of your involvement, you may receive feedback on the outcome of the investigation. Anonymous reports cannot usually be answered.
  • After completion of the audit, the competent authority will monitor, if necessary, whether the measures ordered are being implemented and whether the situation in the facility has improved.
