Apply for a fishing license for foreign tourists

Prerequisites

• You are a tourist from abroad.
• You do not have a residence in Germany.
• You have a valid fishing license from your home country.
• There are no specific reasons for rejection.

Documents required

• A digital passport photo (even if you are interviewing in person)
• Proof that you hold a fishing license from your home country
• Proof of identity (e.g. ID card or passport)

Please note

Deadlines

The fishing license is limited to one calendar year.

Procedure

• You appear in person at the responsible office or contact them by email.
• You apply for a fishing license.
• The responsible authority will examine your application and, if all requirements are met, will issue the fishing license.
• You sign the fishing license.
• You pay the fee for the fishing license and the fishing tax.
• The fishing license will be issued to you.

You cannot pay in cash. You can pay with an EC card. Alternatively, you will be invoiced for the payment amount in a separate letter. The latter is only possible if you can provide a delivery address.
