Apply for approval as a qualified person for the inspection of wastewater pretreatment plants

If you, as a qualified person, want to carry out investigations into wastewater pretreatment plants, you must first apply for authorization.

Detailed description

A wastewater pre-treatment plant is a plant that treats wastewater before it is released into the environment. If you, as a competent person, want to inspect wastewater pre-treatment plants to ensure that they comply with the applicable requirements, you must apply for a permit. You must apply for the permit from the competent authority. Only once you have the permit can you start carrying out inspections.

 

Information

Prerequisites

  • You have already worked in the field of wastewater technology for at least 3 years
  • You have completed a degree in engineering or natural sciences in a field relevant to the activity you are performing, or an equivalent recognized qualification, or, in exceptional cases, subject-related vocational training combined with many years of professional experience.
  • You are independent (there is no connection between the intended audit activity and any other service you offer)
  • You have the necessary reliability

Documents required

  • Proof of your professional experience in the field of wastewater technology
  • Proof of your expertise
  • If applicable: Registration in another federal state
  • Proof of professional liability insurance

The responsible authority may request further documents from you.

  • You submit your application together with the necessary documents to the responsible authority.
  • The responsible authority will examine your application and, if necessary, request any missing documents or information from you.
  • You will receive the decision of the responsible authority in writing.
