They intend to apply for admission to the preparatory service for a teaching position.

Please use the above link to the online service "Apply for the teacher training program" to submit your application. No other application method is available.



For years we have conducted two recruitment processes per year. The recruitment dates are February 1st and August 1st of each year.



The application deadline for the 1st of February is September 15th of the previous year, and for the 1st of August, it is April 1st of the same year. The deadline for submitting the Master's degree or the first state examination certificate is November 1st of the previous year for the 1st of February, and May 15th of the same year for the 1st of August.



The most important principle for this process is equal opportunity for all applicants. Applications are generally valid for all of Hamburg. Please note that you are not entitled to training at a specific school.



All parties involved are working to align the available training capacities, the number of applicants, and the applicants' wishes.

 

Information

Prerequisites

In order to be accepted into the preparatory service, a completed teaching degree (Bachelor's/Master's degree or first state examination for a teaching profession) is required.



Further requirements are a clean, extended certificate of good conduct to be presented to an authority and a commitment to the free democratic basic order. In addition, the applicant must be medically fit for the civil service position on probation. Original proof of two measles vaccinations or equivalent measles immunity must be presented at the time of employment.

Please note

Please apply well before the respective application deadlines, even if you have not yet completed your Master's degree or the first state examination. Only then will we be able to inform you in advance which documents are still missing and you will have the opportunity to respond to them in good time.

Deadlines

Hiring dates are:


1 February (application deadline 15 September of the previous year) and


August 1st (application deadline April 1st).




Please note: The deadline for submitting your Master's degree or the first state examination is November 1st of the previous year for February 1st and May 15th of the same year for August 1st.

Procedure

Please submit your application exclusively through our online service "Apply for the Teacher Training Program" and include all required documents in your application. If you do not yet have your Master's degree certificate or First State Examination certificate at the time of application, you can submit it by email to vorbereitungsdienst-bewerbungen@bsfb.hamburg.de by the respective deadline. If you are only able to submit your Master's degree certificate or First State Examination certificate after the respective deadline, this is also possible. Your application will then be considered late, and we will check for available training positions.


After processing, you will receive confirmation of receipt from us and, if applicable, a notification of which documents are still missing.



The Authority for Schools, Family and Vocational Training conducts the selection and admission procedure in accordance with the admission regulations. Following admission and acceptance of your place, the State Institute for Qualification and Quality Development in Schools (LI) will assign you to the training school, where the training itself will take place.

There are no fees.




Costs incurred as a result of or for the purpose of the application (e.g. travel costs, copying costs) will not be reimbursed and must be borne by the applicants themselves.
