Detailed description

If the responsible authority determines that you have violated the road traffic regulations, administrative offense proceedings will usually be initiated against you. A distinction is made between offenses committed in stationary and moving traffic.

  • Traffic violations are violations of the parking and stopping of vehicles.
  • Examples of traffic violations include speeding.

Depending on the severity of your violation, you will be given a warning or a fine.



A warning fine with a hearing is a minor administrative offense for which the authorities can issue a corresponding warning fine. A warning fine can be set between €5.00 and €55.00 and does not include administrative costs. The purpose of the warning is to expedite the proceedings.

You must pay the fine within one week of receipt or submit a statement.

Procedure

  • The administrative offense is established.
  • If necessary, your data will be determined through a holder request.
  • The amount of the fine will be determined.
  • For minor fines up to EUR 55.00, a warning fine offer with a hearing form will be sent to you.
  • You have the choice between payment or a statement. Only full and timely payment of the fine will effectively be accepted.
  • If you submit a statement instead of paying, it will be reviewed. The following results may occur:
    • Your objections are accepted and the proceedings are discontinued.
    • Your statement will not result in the discontinuation of the proceedings. A penalty notice will be sent to you without further notice. This notice includes the fine, the costs of the proceedings, and the costs of delivery.

2-4 weeks or longer depending on the type of case.
