Aviation security training and certification

Detailed description

Only certified individuals are permitted to work as aviation security screeners. If you wish to have your employees certified, you must submit an application. Such certification consists of training as well as a written and practical examination.

 

Information

Prerequisites

  • You operate an airfield or a security service and would like to have your aviation security control personnel certified.
  • The aviation security control personnel registered for certification
    • have passed the reliability check at the start of the training,
    • are physically and mentally suitable for the work of an aviation security screener.

Documents required

  • List of all training or exam participants
  • Certificate of Certification for Trainers
  • Proof of successful completion of the reliability check of all training or examination participants

Procedure

  • You submit your application to the responsible authority. You can use the provided online service for this purpose.
  • The relevant authority will review your application.
  • The security service provider conducts the training and submits the training certificate to the relevant authority.
  • The security service provider applies for the examination for the training participants via the airport operator.
  • The security service provider submits a list of names of the candidates and the training certificates to the responsible authority.
  • The responsible body forms an examination committee and conducts the written and practical examination.
  • Upon successful completion of the examination, participants receive their certification. The airport operator receives a copy.
  • The responsible authority issues a fee notice and sends it to the airport operator.

The processing time depends on the individual case.

Certification as an aviation security screener for personnel and goods checks: 300.00 euros


Certification as an aviation security screener for personnel and goods checks, upon retaking a practical examination or passing only the practical examination: €250.00
