Detailed description

If you operate a laboratory, testing center or other facility that carries out analytical measurements in the environmental sector and you want to ensure their quality, you can register for round robin tests.



In Hamburg, the Institute for Hygiene and Environment (HU) is the organizing body for interlaboratory comparisons in the environmental sector. It conducts interlaboratory comparisons in the following areas:

  • drinking water
  • Wastewater
  • Groundwater
  • Surface water
  • Soil / Contaminated sites
  • Waste

You can register for the proficiency tests online, submit your results and download the evaluation and certificate via the proficiency testing portal.

Different documents may be required when conducting interlaboratory tests.

Please note

If registration for a particular proficiency test is not yet possible, you can register for the proficiency test. You will then be informed by the responsible body as soon as registration is possible.

Deadlines

Participation in a proficiency testing scheme is subject to registration and data submission deadlines. These deadlines vary from case to case. You can find them in the general terms and conditions of the proficiency testing scheme.

Procedure

  • You register in the proficiency testing portal.
  • You select the proficiency test you would like to participate in and fill out the query form completely.
  • You will receive confirmation of your registration.
  • You carry out the measurements according to the specifications of the round robin test.
  • You submit your measurement results via the proficiency testing portal.
  • The responsible body evaluates the data received and prepares participant certificates and a final report.
  • You can view the final report in the proficiency testing portal and download it together with your participation certificate.

Processing time

The processing time for each step in the proficiency testing portal is approximately 5-10 minutes.

Fees

The costs depend on the individual case. You will be informed about any fees for participation in the general terms and conditions when registering for the proficiency test, which you can access on the proficiency test portal.
