If you are no longer able to make decisions or act as a result of a mental illness or a physical, mental or emotional disability, you need a legal representative to protect your rights and interests. If other suitable aids, such as a health care proxy, are not available, the court appoints a legal guardian in accordance with the Care Act.
In order to keep the legal interference as low as possible and to preserve your self-determination as much as possible, the support is individually adapted and only set up for the areas and for the duration for which there is actually a need for action. Your personal well-being and your wishes are the guiding principles for the supervisor.
Legal support is a responsible and demanding task. Therefore, both the supervisor and the authorized representative are entitled to advice and support.
Advice is given by telephone during office hours or in personal discussions that can be arranged in advance by telephone.
There are also introductory and advanced training events for volunteer supervisors.
