Detailed description
Market activity in the slaughter cattle sector is subject to strong fluctuations due to the constant change in supply and demand. There are also a large number of suppliers and buyers, which makes it very difficult to get an overview of the market. In order to ensure market transparency nonetheless, there is the instrument of official price quotations.
Based on the price reports submitted by the slaughterhouses subject to reporting, the competent authority determines the price ranges of the respective categories and trade classes for the previous week from Monday to Sunday. These are then published together with the average weighted payment price calculated for the respective trading class as an official price quotation.
If you are required to report, you must report for the previous week:
- The total quantity slaughtered by number of pieces and slaughter weight and
- the averages of the payout prices per kilogram weighed with the slaughter weights (this is the price to be paid to the supplier free entrance to the slaughterhouse without sales tax).
