  • one day trips,
  • multi-day trips as well
  • the costs for lunch in the day-care center or school are covered. In addition:
  • School supplies: Pupils receive a subsidy for learning materials every half year.
  • Learning support: Pupils who need tutoring receive free offers.
  • School transport: Bus or train tickets can be taken over for long distances between home and school.
  • Socio-cultural participation benefits: All children and young people up to their 18th birthday can receive benefits for activities in their free time. Participation in community, extracurricular activities in the areas of culture, music, sports, leisure time and more is funded (15 euros/month):
    • Sports, games and socializing - eg membership fee for the football club
    • Lessons in artistic subjects - eg music lessons, drama
    • Guided activities of cultural education - eg museum course
    • Participation in (holiday) leisure time - e.g. scout camp or instead
    • Equipment for these activities - eg buying a jersey, renting a musical instrument.
There are two ways to receive the flat rate of 15 euros per month:
  1. The payment should be made to you, as the beneficiary:
As the beneficiary, you apply for the lump sum using the form “Settlement of benefits for socio-cultural participation – application by the beneficiary”. You can use this to certify the activity with the provider. Send the form to the Eimsbüttel district office together with a copy of your current permit notification or the short BuT notification. After the check, you will receive 15 euros per month on the account specified in the application and you will take care of paying the provider yourself.
  2. Direct settlement with the provider:
Would you like the billing to take place directly between the provider and the city of Hamburg? Then present your notification of approval to the provider and provide them with the required information. The provider fills out the application form and sends it to the district office in Eimsbüttel and receives the actual monthly contributions for the participation offer directly.
If the participation offer costs less than 15 euros, the difference will be paid out to you as the person entitled to benefits. In this case, you must provide the Eimsbüttel District Office with the account details separately. If the offer costs more than 15 euros, you have to pay the remaining amount yourself.

Use the library for free:
In addition to these benefits of the education package, Hamburg finances an annual pass for the Hamburg library for all those entitled to claim. If you are interested, present your entitlement to benefits (approval or short notice) for free use.
