Detailed description
Head lice infestation is the most common parasitic disease in Europe. Anyone can get head lice. This is not due to poor hygiene. Head lice are particularly easily transmitted in places where many children come together.
If you notice that your child has head lice, the community facility that your child regularly attends (e.g. daycare centers, schools or similar institutions) must be informed immediately.
The management of the community facility must immediately notify the health authority and provide information about the illness and personal details.
Children with head lice are not allowed to enter the rooms of the community facility until they have been treated for head lice. Information about treatment for head lice can be found at www.hamburg.de/politik-und-verwaltung/behoerden/sozialbehoerde/themen/gesundheit/infektionssschutz/laeuse
