You can report violations of regulations regarding the keeping and walking of dogs to the dog control service.

Detailed description

In Hamburg you can contact the dog control service if

  • You want to report a dangerous dog (classified as dangerous due to its breed or noticed due to aggressive behaviour).
  • You have spotted a lost dog.
  • You have observed a particular incident involving dogs that endangered people or other animals (e.g. biting incidents)

In dangerous situations, please call the police on 110. If necessary, the police will request assistance from the dog control service.

  • You pass your report on to the dog control service.
    • The dog control service cannot be reached in person. You have the option of leaving a message at the telephone number provided or using the email address.
  • The dog control service will check your report and take action if necessary.
