Apply for a special parking permit for employees on shift work

If your company has (early) shift work, you can apply for special parking permits for your employees. As an employee, you will receive the special parking permit from your employer.

Detailed description

If your business is located in a residents' parking area, you can apply for special parking permits for your employees working (early) shifts.

The special parking permit may be used by employees whose shift begins no later than 6:00 a.m. and is used entirely digitally. Parking with the special parking permit and parking disc is allowed until 3:00 p.m. The special parking permit is valid for the residents' parking zone in which the company is located.

Information

Prerequisites

  • You have employees on shift work who start work up to and including 6:00 a.m.
  • Your place of business is located in a residents' parking area.
  • There are no private or rentable parking spaces in the area.
  • They are working on a company mobility management system so that fewer or no special parking permits will be required in the future. Mobility management includes, among other things, private and rentable parking spaces, promoting the use of public transport, company bikes, etc.

Documents required

  • Application via the online procedure (see links)
  • Reasons for the application
    • including a description of the situation: information on company parking spaces, public transport connections, employees' commutes
    • Measures for operational mobility management
  • Information on the number of employees in the company, the number of employees on shift work and the required number of special parking permits
  • Proof of shift work in the company
  • Location information for the business due to the local validity of the special parking permit

Please note

  • Not all employees receive their own special parking permit. If your employees work rotating shifts, they share the so-called quota. As a company, you are responsible for determining who receives the permit and when, and for documenting usage.
  • Special parking permits can be valid for multiple resident parking zones. This is determined individually for each application based on local requirements and is noted on the special parking permit.
  • During use, other persons must not be endangered or hindered.

Deadlines

The special parking permit is valid for one year. You can apply for an extension no earlier than three months before its expiration date.

Procedure

  • The company submits the application for special parking permits for shift workers via the online portal.
  • The State Transport Authority (LBV) will review your application.
  • Your company will receive the special parking permits digitally. You will receive an email notification as soon as the permit is granted and can be used in the VIATO Parking app.
  • Your special parking permit is now stored digitally for verification purposes. You can park accordingly without having to display any documents. Simply log in to the app and log out when you are ready to leave.
  • Should your application be rejected, you will receive the rejection by mail.
  • For any questions from you or the LBV, the online application procedure is also available, or you can contact us by phone or email.

Processing time

Your application will take approximately 10-15 business days to process.

Fees

EUR 250 per year for the first vehicle. For each additional vehicle, the fee is EUR 100 per year.

The fees are based on the fee schedule for measures in road traffic (GebOSt).

If your application is rejected, a fee of 75% will also apply. Subsequent withdrawal of your application is also subject to a fee. In this case, you must pay a fee of 50% of the original fee. This fee is based on the Administrative Costs Act (VwKostG) in conjunction with the Fee Schedule for Measures in Road Traffic (GebOSt). Submitting an application does not confer a legal entitlement to the granting of an exemption.
