Apply for a permit using the simplified procedure for a plant under the Federal Immission Control Act

Prerequisites

• You apply for the simplified procedure within an application for approval and construction or substantial modification.
• You must prove that you will fulfil the obligations of the Federal Immission Control Act when constructing and operating a plant.
• The project does not conflict with any other public law regulations or occupational health and safety concerns.

You need the permit before you can start constructing or operating the facilities.

Procedure

You submit a written or electronic application.
The responsible authority will check your application and your documents for completeness.
If necessary, they may request further documents or information from you.
The simplified procedure takes place without public participation. No documents or plans are made available. There is no hearing.
Once the responsible authority has determined all the circumstances that are relevant for granting a permit, it will decide on the application. You will receive a written decision with the reasons for the decision.

Processing time

The processing time is 3 months after receipt of all necessary documents.

Fees

Fees apply. The amount of the fees depends on the investment amount or the administrative costs. They are calculated based on the Hamburg Environmental Fees Ordinance.
