If you want to hunt with birds of prey or falcons in Germany, known as falconry, you need a falconry license. You must apply for the falconry license at the relevant authority. If you want to hunt regularly, you can apply for the falconry license in the form of an annual hunting license.

 

Information

Prerequisites

  • You are at least 18 years old when issuing the permit
  • You have the necessary personal reliability
  • You have the necessary physical fitness
  • You have taken out hunting liability insurance
  • You have passed a falconry exam

  • Hunting license or special hunting license for falconers or certificate of the hunting exam or certificate of the special hunting exam for falconers

Deadlines

The annual hunting license is valid for a maximum of three consecutive hunting years. The hunting year begins on April 1st and ends on March 31st of each calendar year.

  • The responsible authority will check your application for completeness and correctness and, if necessary, request any missing documents or information from you.
