Report the purchase of a weapon

Prerequisites

• Authorization of the recipient to purchase the weapon
• Authorization of the transferor to sell the weapon

Documents required

• Identity card or passport (copy)
• Weapon ownership card (WBK) or hunting license with purchase authorization (previous entry)
• European firearms passport (if registration desired)

Please note

To make it easier to fill out the declaration, you can use the National Weapons Register identification numbers (NWR-ID):

• Use your personal NWR ID (for example P- or F-NWR-ID) for personal information.
• Use the permit NWR ID (E-NWR ID) for information on firearms permits.
• The weapon or weapon part NWR ID (e.g. W- or T-NWR-ID) is relevant for information on weapons or weapon parts.

You can obtain the corresponding NWR IDs by submitting an application to the responsible weapons authority.

• You submit your report to the responsible authority and attach the necessary documents.
• The responsible authority will check your notification and, if necessary, request any missing documents from you.
• Your report will be filed.
