The following groups must have specialist knowledge in accordance with Section 47 of the Radiation Protection Ordinance:
- competent radiation protection officers
- Radiation Protection Officer
- medical physics experts
- Physicians and dentists who apply ionizing radiation or radioactive substances to humans in accordance with Section 144 (1) of the Radiation Protection Ordinance
- Doctors and dentists who, in accordance with § 83 Para. Radiation Protection Act, determine how the application should be carried out (justifying indication)
- Veterinarians who use ionizing radiation and radioactive substances in accordance with Section 146 (1) of the Radiation Protection Ordinance in the context of veterinary medicine
The acquisition of the necessary specialist knowledge in radiation protection is checked by the responsible body (Office for Occupational Safety, Medical Association, Dental Association, Veterinary Association). If the test is positive, a corresponding certificate will then be issued. For this purpose, the application must be submitted in writing to the body responsible for the respective area of application and the required evidence must be submitted.
