Prerequisites
- You must prove that you can store the weapon safely (gun safe with resistance level 0 or I)
Documents required
- Identity card
- Gun ownership card or sports shooting certificate or valid hunting license
- Proof of safe storage
If necessary, additionally for hunters:
- Proof of 1st and 2nd multi-shot handgun (pistol, revolver)
If applicable, additionally for sports shooters:
- Proof of expertise
- Justification for the need to purchase if more than 2 multi-shot handguns or 3 semi-automatic long guns are already in possession
If applicable, additionally for ship owners:
- Proof that you own a seaworthy boat
- Proof of safe storage on board (Hamburger Kasten)
Please note
During the application process, it is sufficient to state the type and caliber of the weapon. Detailed information such as manufacturer and model are not required initially. You only have to provide this information when you report the purchase to the relevant authority. The gun dealer is also obliged to report the purchase of the weapon.
For the preliminary entry, your reliability under firearms law, personal suitability and expertise will not be checked again.
Purchasing a weapon without a prior record is a criminal offense.
Deadlines
With the pre-registration you have one year to purchase the weapon that requires a permit.
