Detailed description
The entry-level allowance is intended to make your transition into the job market easier and to create incentives to get out of unemployment. The entry-level allowance is intended to offer you financial support if your income is initially not or only slightly higher than your previous basic social security benefits.
You will be granted entry-level allowance as a non-creditable grant. The amount is determined by the responsible authority based on statutory criteria. Entry-level allowance is a maximum of 50% of the standard rate of your citizen's allowance. When calculating the amount, the duration of your unemployment and the size of your household are taken into account, among other things. The amount of entry-level allowance therefore varies depending on the individual case.
If you belong to certain groups of people, the responsible authority can also make a flat-rate assessment. This applies in particular to:
- long-term unemployed,
- single parents,
- migrants,
- older people,
- people with health impairments,
- Women in partner-need communities.
