Apply for appointment as an expert for long-term storage in accordance with the Landfill Ordinance

If you want to work as an expert or expert for long-term storage in accordance with the Landfill Ordinance, you must be appointed to do so by the responsible authority.

Detailed description

When decommissioning long-term storage facilities, operators must meet certain requirements so that the storage facility does not pose a danger to the general public or the environment.

Experts regularly check that these requirements are being met.

If you want to carry out the inspection, you must apply to the competent authority to appoint you as an expert or expert. The provision applies to the entire federal territory.

 

Information

Prerequisites

  • They have the necessary specialist knowledge, independence, reliability and technical equipment.
  • You submit the application in the federal state in which you have your place of business
  • If your place of business is abroad, submit the application in the country in which you will primarily carry out the activity.

Documents required

  • Include with your application evidence and information about the required expertise, independence, reliability and technical equipment.
  • If necessary, the responsible authority will request further documents or information from you.
  • Copy of the certificate as an expert. If recognition is not available, the opinion of an expert committee set up at a chamber of commerce or chamber of industry and commerce for the assessment of an expert's expertise must be obtained for the technical assessment of the expertise.
  • Certificate of good conduct (document type OG, not older than 3 months)
  • Information from the central commercial register (document type 9, not older than 3 months)

Deadlines

You must submit the application before starting work.

Procedure

You submit a written application to the responsible authority to be appointed as an expert person for one or more testing activities in accordance with the Landfill Ordinance.


The authority will examine your application and, if necessary, request further application documents, including from the expert regarding reliability, independence and specialist knowledge.


The authority will decide on your application. You will receive a notification of the authority's decision.


The provision for an expert person can be provided with a reservation of revocation, a time limit, conditions, requirements or the reservation of requirements (ancillary provisions).

Processing time

As soon as all the required documents have been submitted, your application will be examined within 3 months.




Duration: 3 months

Fees

Fees apply. The responsible authority calculates the amount of the fees based on the time spent and on the basis of the environmental fee regulations.
