If you are a company that is offering home working for the first time, you must inform the relevant authority in advance. This also applies if you are only planning irregular or minor home working activities.

Please note

Home work includes, for example, product testing or translation work, but also home offices. The basis for this is the Home Work Act (HAG). It protects people who work in their own home or in a self-selected business location for companies or subcontractors. The law is intended to prevent discrimination compared to traditional jobs.




The protective regulations for home workers are non-negotiable. Individual agreements that violate these are invalid. When it comes to paying for home workers, companies are bound by labor law and collective bargaining agreements.

If you want to create the notice in writing, proceed as follows:

  • Create an ad stating your company name, address and location of the company, and the type of employment.
  • Submit the report to the relevant authority.
  • The responsible authority will examine your report.
  • You have thereby fulfilled your obligation to report.
  • You will not receive a confirmation of receipt.
  • If you have any questions or require correction, please contact the responsible department.

If you want to create the ad using an online service, proceed as follows:

  • Register in the online service and create your ad.
  • The online service automatically carries out a responsibility determination and sends the notification after completion.
  • The responsible authority will examine your report.
  • You have thereby fulfilled your obligation to report.
  • You will not receive a confirmation of receipt.
  • If you have any questions or require correction, please contact the responsible department.
