Prerequisites
As the notifying body you are:
- a partnership under civil law or
- a legal entity:
- Joint-stock company)
- Limited liability company (GmbH)
- cooperative
- Association
- Authority and other public institution.
- As a general partnership (OHG) or a limited partnership (KG and GmbH & Co. KG) you are treated the same as a legal entity.
You need the necessary expertise to be approved as a measuring point. You also need to be reliable and independent.
You must have the equipment and personnel to identify the substances for which you wish to be notified.

You must provide information on the following points:
- Your reliability and independence
- Specialist staff
- Qualifications of your staff
- technical equipment
- Professional competence (accreditation)
- to which measurement activities (areas of activity and substance areas according to Annex 1 of the 41st BImSchV) the announcement should extend
Please note
Certain emissions and immissions of noise, vibrations and air pollutants may only be determined by expert bodies, for example measuring institutes. The same applies to checking the correct installation and function of the measuring equipment during continuous measurement of the system. For these activities, appropriate accreditation in accordance with DIN EN 17025 is a prerequisite.
For the calibration of measuring equipment in the chimney sweeping industry, a certificate according to VDI 4208, Sheet 2 on the establishment of a quality assurance system is required instead of accreditation.
Deadlines
The notification is limited to five years and must then be applied for again.
