Detailed description

In order to carry out work with hazardous substances that do not comply with the provisions of the Hazardous Substances Ordinance, you must apply to the responsible authority.


In order to obtain the exemption, you must be able to prove that the measure or project you are concerned with complies with the protection objective of the Hazardous Substances Ordinance.


You can apply for an exception, for example, for:

  • Deviation from storage regulations
  • Permanent wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Exceptions to set deadlines

Procedure

  • You can apply for the official exemption in writing by post or email to the responsible authority.
  • You submit the required information to the competent authority.
  • The responsible authority will check your information and decide on your application.
  • You will receive a notification.

Processing time

You will usually receive the decision 2 to 4 weeks after you have submitted your application.

Fees

There is an administration fee of 100 to 500 euros.
