Apply for approval as a child and adolescent therapist

Prerequisites

• You have completed the required training and passed the state examination.
• They have the necessary reliability.
• You have not committed any offense that would render you unworthy to practice your profession.
• They are suitable for health reasons.
• You have the knowledge of the German language required to carry out your professional activities.

Documents required

• Proof of identity
• Birth certificate or a current extract from the parents' family register
• If your name has changed, additionally: marriage certificate or certificate of registered civil partnership
• tabular CV
• Federal Central Register extract (document type O, not older than one month)
• Certificate of passing the state examination for child and adolescent psychotherapists
• Declaration as to whether criminal proceedings or a public prosecutor's investigation are pending against you
• Medical certificate stating that you are not unfit to practice the profession due to health reasons (not older than one month)

• You submit your application for approval together with the required documents to the responsible authority
• The responsible authority will examine your application and request any missing documents or information from you.
• After successfully completing the examination, a certificate of approval will be handed to you personally or delivered to you upon receipt.
