Apply for certification of trainers in the field of aviation security

Do you wish to apply for certification as a trainer in the field of aviation security? Then you can apply for this through the airport operator at your aviation security authority.

Detailed description

Certification as a trainer in the field of aviation security is a prerequisite for working as a trainer in the field of aviation security.



You need the certification to train and educate the following groups of people in the aviation security sector:

  • Air security assistants,
  • aviation security guards,
  • Security personnel for mail or materials from airlines, on-board supplies and airport deliveries,
  • Vehicle control forces,
  • Access control personnel as well as staff for surveillance and patrols,
  • Other security personnel for mail or materials from airlines, in-flight supplies and airport deliveries
  • Supervisory staff,
  • Security officer.

You can also apply for certification as a trainer to train and educate the following groups of people:

  • Persons other than passengers who require unaccompanied access to secure areas
  • Training of individuals regarding general safety awareness.

As a trainer, you can train several groups of people.

Prerequisites

You must meet the following requirements:

  • successful completion of an extended background check,
  • Expertise in training techniques,
  • Knowledge of the working environment in the relevant field of aviation security,
  • Competence regarding the elements of security to be imparted,
  • extensive knowledge and practical experience in the field of aviation security,
  • a certificate recognized by the competent national authority or an equivalent certification issued by the competent national authority.

  • CV with professional experience (focus on aviation security)
  • Certificates/Certificates of Competence
  • Evidence of:
    • Competence in training techniques
    • Knowledge of the work environment
    • Competence in training content

Deadlines

The certification is valid for a maximum of 5 years, after which you must be recertified.

Procedure

  • You submit your application to the relevant authority via the provided online service.
  • Your application will be checked for completeness.
  • If necessary, follow-up questions will be asked via email.
  • Prior to certification, the responsible aviation security authority conducts a teaching demonstration with the applicants.
  • You will be issued the certificate of certification.
  • The certificate and notification will be sent to you by post.
  • The airport operator will receive a copy of the certificate of certification and a notification by post.
  • A fee notice will be issued and sent to the airport operator by post.

Processing can take up to several weeks and varies depending on the individual case.
