Recognition of radiation protection courses according to the Radiation Protection Ordinance

If you would like to carry out radiation protection courses, you need recognition from the responsible authority.

Detailed description

If you intend to carry out radiation protection courses, you must have the courses recognized by the responsible authority in advance.

In order to ensure proper knowledge transfer, the recognition process checks whether:
  • the course content taught is sufficient.
  • the necessary knowledge is available
  • the teaching staff, the teaching material used and the equipment of the course facility are suitable.

Prerequisites

You must prove that the radiation protection course you are planning is suitable for conveying the content specified in the specialist knowledge guidelines to the participants.

Documents required

Attach the following documents to your application:

  • Name of the radiation protection course with reference to the respective specialist guidelines
  • Naming the course instructor
  • Proof of the technical and pedagogical qualifications of the respective speakers
  • Timetable, stating what each speaker teaches and when
  • Evidence of the content conveyed, for example through a script and slides from the speakers
  • Sample course certificate in accordance with the respective guidelines
  • Selection of exam questions
  • Description of the tests
  • Equipment of the course facility

Procedure

  • Submit a written application for recognition of radiation protection courses and submit it with the required documents.
  • The responsible authority will check your documents for completeness and, if necessary, request further documents or information from you.
  • The responsible authority decides on your application and informs you of the result in a notice.
  • The notification will be sent to you by email or post.
  • The fee notice will usually be sent to you later.

Processing time

If all documents are complete and correct, processing your application will take approximately 2-4 weeks.

Fees

The recognition is subject to a fee. The fees are calculated according to the time spent in accordance with § 2 of the fee schedule.
