Urban space monitoring, climate protection change, fundamental environmental issues

Many areas in Hamburg that are suitable for residential construction are exposed to high loads. Two guidelines on air pollutants and noise deal with land use planning.
  •

Detailed description

Hamburg's goal is to cover the need for living space within the framework of inner development. The "Hamburg Guidelines for Air Pollutants in Urban Land Use Planning 2011" describes considerations for overcoming conflicts with air pollutants and incident operations in urban land use planning. It provides instruments for conflict resolution when planning pollutant-sensitive uses at polluted sites.

Many areas in the city that are suitable for residential construction are exposed to high levels of noise pollution. The "Hamburg guideline on noise in land use planning 2010" summarizes the handling of various types of noise (traffic noise, industrial and commercial noise, sports and leisure noise, aircraft noise) in land use planning for the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
