Accidents that occur on construction sites must be reported to the police immediately. This is important to initiate prompt action and ensure safety on the construction site.
Inform the responsible department so the incident can be documented and addressed. Your assistance will help minimize risks and make the work environment safer.
The Office for Building Regulations and Civil Engineering is primarily responsible for the safe operation of buildings and pollution control. This includes:
- Control and monitoring of occupational safety for employees on construction sites
- Control and monitoring of the safety of pedestrians
- Control and monitoring of emissions protection for passers-by (e.g. construction noise and dust)
- Advice and information for all those involved in the construction
This does not include:
- Construction sites with hazardous substances such as asbestos or mineral fibers (Office for Occupational Safety and Health)
- Occupation of public areas by construction site materials or vehicles (relevant district office, Department for the Management of Public Spaces (MöR))
- Work on federally owned railways (Federal Railway Authority)
- Advice and information on construction types, building permits or similar
