Visit Hamburg's historical museums from home

Many of Hamburg’s museums are members of the SHMH - Stiftung Historische Museen Hamburg (Foundation for Historical Museums Hamburg): the Museum for Hamburg History, the Altonaer Museum, the Worker’s Museum, the Harbour Museum, the Jenisch Haus, the Museum of the Hamburg Warehouse District and the German Harbour Museum (opening soon).

Together these museums have put together some digital activities to help online visitors experience their favourite museums from home. Activities include:

- There is a special 3D walk through of the current exhibition Tattoo Legends in St. Pauli.

- Even long-time Hamburg residents can learn exciting new things about their hometown browsing through the online magazine Hamburg Wissen.

- On the ‘efoto' page, visitors are asked to help set old pictures in order - and at the same time they can discover long-forgotten images of the Hanseatic City in days gone by.

- The robotics and AI exhibition Out of Office is available for viewing online.

The museums are currently working to document Hamburg in the time of the COVID-19 coronavirus. Help them by sharing documents and ideas to make these special times accessible and comprehensible in the future.
