Lueneburger Heide Region

Natural Environment

Located between Hamburg, Bremen and Hannover, the Lueneburger Heide Region is one of the most spectacular regions in North Germany. Made up of fields, forests, moors and heathland, this region encompasses many small villages and interesting areas.
Visitors who want a taste of the nature can explore the Naturpark Lueneburger Heide or the Naturpark Suedheide. The area also has over 14 amusement parks, from the Serengeti Park to Heide Park Soltau and the Vogelpark Walsrode.

Active Holidays

The huge amount of green space in the region also makes it the perfect place for an active holiday. Visitors can cycle across the area on one of the many cycle routes ─ or, if a full day of cycling sounds tiring, take one of the 'Heide Radbusse' (bike buses; German only) to and from Uelzen, Lueneburg and North Heide. If hiking (German only) is more your style, there are many routes that last one or several days, which encompass many of the best sights in the region.
Alternatively, take the region at full gallop, and ride across the Lueneburger Heide. Countless riding halls, arenas and stables can be found all across the region ─ and for guests who have never ridden before, guided riding tours are available.

Lueneburger Wellness

For those looking for a more relaxing wellness holiday, Lueneburger Heide has many possibilities. Wellness hotels (German only), hotels with pools, and other wellness farms are spread across the Heide area.
