With such beautiful surroundings, it’s no wonder that outdoor activities are so popular in St Peter Ording. The beach spot is close to the famous Wadden Sea, a UNESCO world heritage site, which invites guests to wander along the mud flats. Alternatively, visitors can wander to the lighthouse, situated at one end of the town.
St Peter Ording is also well known for its health and wellness opportunities. Visitors can enjoy one of the health and wellness centres dotted across the town and allow the refreshing sea breeze to revitalise them.

Outdoor activities are also popular here. The extensive beach offers the opportunity for long walks, whilst visitors can also try their hand at kitesurfing, windsurfing, beach volleyball - or even sand yachting! As well as this there is even an outdoor pool, complete with slides and therme.

Museums and Events

Head to the Landschaft Museum Eiderstedt and discover more about the history of the area through historical objects and beautiful rooms. Weekly markets and a children’s centre give the town a cosy feel, and the many cafes and restaurants offer guests every opportunity to relax. Annual events include the kite festival, which is a colourful spectacle, the traditional buoy burning and an incredible firework display on New Year’s Eve.
