The Landesmuseum für Volkskunde in Molfsee comprises 40 hectares of meadows, gardens, dikes and over 70 historic buildings, farms and mills typical for the region of Schleswig-Holstein. Here, visitors can explore what daily life was like in a typical Schleswig-Holstein village. Basket weavers, smiths, turners, woodworkers and beekeepers demonstrate their activities in various buildings, and farms still house the types of animals that would have been around at the time. At the historic pharmacy and adjacent herb garden visitors gain insight into the medicinal practices of the time. The area also houses a playground, restaurant and museum shop.
