The Wedel Harbour Festival
The Wedel Harbour Festival takes place by Schulau Harbour every summer. Among other things, this annual celebration offers visitors cultural and sport activities, live music and a stage programme, food stalls aplenty, a children's and family programme, maritime activities, and introductions to local associations and institutions. Children can explore rides, games and more. On Saturday and Sunday, a flea market turns Schulauer Strasse into a treasure hunter’s dream.
Live acts at the Wedel Harbour Festival
Live music and entertainment acts on both the main stage of the Stadtsparkasse Wedel and on the Famila Culture Stage are always highlights on all three days of the festival. Acts from a variety of genres take the stage and visitors with children should check the yearly schedule for the children’s entertainment programme as well.
Maritime entertainment
Visitors can expect to see some historical ships at the Wedel Harbour Festival as well. The Verein zum Erhalt Helgoländer Börteboote (Association for the Preservation of Helgoland Boating) even invites visitors to take boat tours throughout the festival. And if you’re a sailing fan, the Wedel-Schulau sailing club provides demonstration on Sundays, while the smaller ‘racing ducks’ compete for charity Saturdays. A duck costs €5 and there are also prizes to be won beyond bragging rights.
