Uhlenhorst Neighbourhood Festival - shopping, feasting and celebrating

The Uhlenhorst Neighbourhood Street Festival (colloquially known as ‘Dat Uhlenfest’ to locals) takes place annually close to the shores of the Outer Alster Lake and surrounded by the magnificent art nouveau buildings of Hamburg’s lovely Uhlenhorst neighbourhood. It’s not for nothing that this event is one of Hamburg's most popular and stylish street festivals!

Live performance at its best

If you’re looking to get your groove on, you can find varied musical entertainment at the HAMBURG ZWEI stage. Music from a variety of genres invites visitors to shake a leg and get down!

But the music stage is not the only platform for artistic performances. Street artists and other performers are all at home at Dat Uhlenfest. Actors, acrobats, circus performers, and comedians are just some of the performers you’ll find at this festival.

Fun for young and old

And since the Uhlenhorst street fair is above all a festival for the whole family, younger visitors can look forward to an exciting entertainment programme on the children's stage. Clowns, balloons and dancing are just some of the delights to be found there.

A feast for foodies

While the little ones are busy, grownups can enjoy specialities and delicacies from nearby restaurateurs, ranging from hot dogs to vegan fair and fish rolls.

Flea market and artists' mile

The popular flea market in Hofweg is not to be missed. Traders mainly based in the neighbourhood present their wares to shoppers on the hunt for unique treasures. At the flea market, visitors can browse for bargains and haggle or just take in the atmosphere.

Designers, artisans and visual artists show their work at the Künstlermeile (lit. ‘artists' mile’) on Papenhuder Straße. They temp visitors with everything from artful jewellery to fashion accessories and designer bags to unique handmade items.

Associations and social clubs introduce themselves

And if you’re an Uhlenhurst local looking to get more involved in your neighbourhood, you can find information on social issues, sports and politics in the area. Various information stands from local groups, associations and parties will be happy to fill you in.
