Street Festivals at a Glance

Together with the daffodils and tulips, street festivals seem to pop up all over Hamburg as soon as the spring sun shows its face. From May to August, almost every neighbourhood puts on a festival: some small and spontaneous, while others have grown into full-size celebrations of music, gastronomy and arts. Most festivals include food trucks, bars-on-wheels, handicraft stalls, music stages and flea markets, as well as activities for kids like face-painting and bouncy castles. Street festivals are free to enter, making them an excellent weekend activity.
