‘I’ll spend my summer in Hamburg’ — that’s the motto of the Summer in Altona festival. Right in the park on Nobistor, only a stone’s throw off Reeperbahn, a new place for like-minded music fans to gather is built from scratch every summer. A circus tent marks the centre of this month-long concert series that adds another cultural highlight to Altona district. Over the past few years, various national and international stars have played the quaint tent. To round out the evenings, the beer garden in front offers not only a cold brew under the late summer sun, but also plenty of free events such as smaller concerts and readings.
